Ontraport Review (2026): One Seat, and One Is the Maximum
Ontraport does something the rest of this category mostly does not: it puts marketing automation on its cheapest plan without a cap. Plus, the entry tier, includes CRM, marketing automation, email and SMS, pages and membership, and payment handling. There is no five-action ceiling and no one-workflow limit.
The constraint is somewhere else entirely, and it is unusually hard. Plus includes one user, and the page gives one as the maximum. Not one included with more available — one, full stop. A second person needs the Pro plan.
The seat ceiling, in detail
Read on 24 September 2026, Ontraport's plan comparison gave user allowances as: Plus, one included and one maximum; Pro, two included with a maximum of five; Enterprise, three included with no maximum. For a solo consultant, coach or small e-commerce operator, that is a non-issue and the entry plan is genuinely complete.
For anyone else it is the most important line on the page. Most software treats seats as something you buy more of; Ontraport treats the entry tier as a single-operator product. The upgrade to Pro is $41 a month on annual billing, which is a reasonable price for a second login — but it arrives as a plan change rather than a seat purchase, and it is worth planning for rather than tripping over.
The price ladder
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Users included | User maximum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | $99 | $83 | 1 | 1 |
| Pro | $149 | $124 | 2 | 5 |
| Enterprise | $299 | $249 | 3 | None stated |
These are starting prices. The page asks how many contacts you have as a separate question, so the figure above is the floor rather than the final bill — an important distinction when comparing against email platforms whose published price already includes a contact count.
The annual saving is described on the page as two months free. Plus at $99 monthly across ten months is $990, which is $82.50 a month spread over twelve — close enough to the $83 shown that the description is accurate rather than marketing.
What Pro adds besides the seat
Marketing tracking and split testing, advanced personalisation, deeper customisation, user permission management, partner programme and referral tracking, and a shared inbox with web chat. If any of those are on your list, Pro was always the plan and the extra seat is a bonus. If none of them are, you are paying $41 a month for a login, which is a fair price but worth knowing you are doing.
The one thing we could not pin down
Ontraport's page lists extra users as a per-user monthly charge, and shows several different rates — we saw $49, $34, $69 and $99 per user per month in different places on the comparison — without a reliable way from the page alone to tie each rate to its plan. Rather than guess which applies to you, this review publishes none of them. If extra seats are central to your decision, get the rate for your specific plan confirmed before signing.
How the contact question changes the price
Because Ontraport's published figures are starting prices with contacts selected separately, the comparison against an email platform needs care. A platform quoting $49 a month at 1,000 contacts has told you both numbers; Ontraport has told you one. Two businesses on the same Ontraport plan with very different list sizes will see very different bills, and the $83 figure is the floor for both of them.
This is not unusual in the CRM half of the market, where the contact count is often less predictive of cost than the seat count, but it does mean Ontraport cannot be dropped into a price table beside contact-priced email tools without a caveat. The honest way to compare is to get a quote for your actual list and put that total next to the email platform's total, rather than comparing two starting prices that mean different things.
What it is genuinely good at
The strongest case for Ontraport is a business where the money and the messages need to know about each other. If a membership lapses, a sequence should notice. If a payment fails, a different sequence should start. Stitching that together across an email tool, a payments processor and a membership plugin is the kind of integration work that quietly consumes a founder's month, and Ontraport removes it by keeping all three in one place.
Who should choose it
Ontraport suits the operator running an entire small business through one system: a course seller, a coach, a membership site, anyone whose payments, pages and sequences all want to know about each other. At $83 a month billed annually with automation included, it undercuts the other combined suites substantially — Keap's equivalent story starts at $2,988 a year plus an unpublished implementation fee.
It suits a growing team much less well, and it is a poor fit if you only want email automation, because you would be paying for a CRM, a page builder and a payments system to get it. For that, the platforms compared purely on their automation limits is the right table.
